Why Google shows it
Where it shows: in the Status column of the campaigns table.
- Someone removed it in the interface or through Google Ads Editor.
- An automated rule, script or tool connected to the account removed it.
- A clean-up of old campaigns that caught one still in use.
How to fix it
- Open Change history and filter on the campaign to see who removed it and when.
- Show removed campaigns in the table, select the campaign and copy it.
- Paste it as a new campaign, then check budget, bidding and dates before enabling it.
- Review who has access and which tools can make changes, if the removal was not expected.
What happens next
The copy starts with no history, so a Smart Bidding strategy goes through a learning period again.
Prefer pausing to removing: a paused campaign can be turned back on with its history intact.
How to stop it coming back
Pause instead of removing, and limit who can make changes to people who need to.
Read the change history every week. A removal you did not plan shows up there with a name and a time.
