Why Google shows it
Where it shows: in the Status column of the campaigns table.
- A start date chosen for a launch, a sale or a season.
- A date entered by mistake, such as the wrong month or year.
- A copied campaign that kept a future start date.
How to fix it
- Open the campaign settings and check the start date and time zone.
- If it should run now, change the start date to today.
- Before the date, check ads are approved and conversion tracking works, so the first days are not wasted.
What happens next
On the start date the status changes to Eligible, then a Smart Bidding campaign goes through a learning period.
Starting a day early on a small budget gives ads time to be reviewed and the strategy time to collect data before the busy day.
How to stop it coming back
Check the account's time zone before setting start dates, since a campaign starts at midnight in that zone, not yours.
Keep a short launch checklist: ads approved, tracking tested, budget right, start date confirmed.
