Why it matters
Agencies and multi-brand businesses use manager accounts to work on many accounts from one place, share conversion tracking and keep access tidy.
Linking a manager account gives its users access to your account. Knowing which managers are linked is part of knowing who controls your ads.
Where to find it in Google Ads
- In your Google Ads account, open Admin, then Access and security, then Managers.
- See which manager accounts are linked and their access level.
- Approve or remove link requests there.
- From a manager account, open Accounts to see every linked client.
An example
A business ends its contract with an agency. It opens Managers, removes the agency's manager account link, and checks that at least two admins from its own team remain.
Common mistakes
- Never reviewing which manager accounts are linked.
- Creating the business's only Google Ads account inside an agency's manager account without owning admin access.
- Sharing logins instead of using manager links or user access.
