Why it matters
For a business people visit, being close is an advantage the ad should show. A location asset shows the address and distance, and lets people get directions in one tap.
It also lets ads appear on Google Maps and supports store visit measurement where available.
Where to find it in Google Ads
- Link your Google Business Profile under Tools, then Data manager.
- Open Campaigns, then Assets, and add a location asset.
- Choose which business locations to use.
- Check the asset report to see how often it was shown.
An example
A garden centre links its Business Profile and adds a location asset. Its ads now show 2.3 km away and the address, and directions requests start showing as conversions.
Common mistakes
- Running ads for a shop without any location asset.
- Letting the Business Profile address or hours go out of date.
- Linking the wrong Business Profile group.
Checks that look at it
