Why it matters
It is the standard Search ad format. Google tests combinations of your headlines and descriptions against each search and shows the ones it expects to work best.
The more distinct material it has, the better it can match each search. Thin ads give Google little to work with.
Where to find it in Google Ads
- Open Campaigns, then Ads, and filter by Responsive search ad.
- Open an ad to edit headlines, descriptions, paths and final URL.
- Check Ad strength and the asset performance report.
- Count the ads per ad group.
An example
An insurance broker writes 12 headlines covering price, speed of quote, cover types, ratings and the brand, plus four descriptions. Ad strength reaches Good, and click-through rate rises.
