Why Google shows it
Where it shows: in the Status column of the ads table.
- A new ad has just been created.
- An existing ad or asset was edited, or its final URL changed, which sends it back for review.
- The ad touches a sensitive category that takes longer to check.
- A large number of ads were uploaded at once.
How to fix it
- Wait one business day before acting: most reviews finish within that time.
- Keep an approved ad running in the same ad group so it keeps serving during the review.
- Avoid editing the ad again during the review, which can restart it.
- If it is still under review after two business days, check its status. After a week, contact Google Ads support.
What happens next
When the review ends, the ad becomes Eligible, Eligible (limited) or Disapproved. Each has its own next step.
Plan launches with a day of margin: an ad created the evening before a sale may not serve on the morning it starts.
How to stop it coming back
Create ads for a launch or a sale a day or two ahead, paused or scheduled, so the review is over before the date.
Group your edits: change an ad once with everything you want, rather than in several small saves that each restart its review.
