The short answer
The Overview is the first page of each ad account: what waits for you, this month's budget and goals, and the metrics you choose. Click Customize metrics to show up to 12 cards picked from 157 built-in metrics, plus your own sheet and calculated metrics. Your layout and your cards are saved for you only.
What the Overview shows
The cards come in this order until you change it. Click Edit layout to drag them, hide the ones you don't use, or go back with Reset to default. The layout is saved for you only, so a teammate's Overview stays as they left it.
The Overview's cards, in their default order Card What it shows This month The month's budget pacing beside your goals Oppy's impact This month's changes, and what each one really did once measured Needs you Tasks waiting for your yes, and the account's open alerts, in two tabs What Oppy did alone Changes applied in Autonomous mode, each with Undo. Read the This month card
The left half follows the money. A chip reads On pace, Over pace or Under pace. Over means the month will likely end above 105% of the budget. Under means below 90%. Beside it you see the day of the month, what was spent so far against the target to date, and today, yesterday and the 7-day average, each against the day's target.
The budget is the account's monthly budget. Without one, Optizads adds up the campaigns' daily budgets. With neither, the card offers Set a monthly budget.
An example
Maison Ondine, a made-up skincare brand, has a monthly budget of €9,300 in a 31-day month, so €300 a day. On day 14 it has spent €4,650 against a target to date of €4,200. The forecast puts the month end near €10,100, about 109% of the budget, so the chip reads Over pace. The line 'To end on the budget' then gives the daily spend that would bring the month back to €9,300.
The right half lists your goals. Behind means a count is below 90% of where an even pace would put it today. Off target means a cost more than 5% above its goal, or a rate under its goal. The first three goals show in full, with where the month will likely end and what each day needs. Each goal's chart is on the Goals page: see Goals and the forecast.
Add, remove or move a metric
Open the editor
In My metrics, click Customize metrics. The Edit my metrics window lists the cards on your Overview first, then every other metric.
Find the metric
Search by name, or browse the groups: Costs, Conversions, Traffic, Visibility, Site traffic, Key events, Organic search and others. Analytics metrics need Google Analytics connected. Search Console metrics need Search Console.
Add it
Click + beside it, or drag it into the list of shown cards. The Overview holds 12 metrics at most, so hide one to make room.
Order, hide, save
Drag a card to move it, or use the arrow keys. Hide what you don't need, then save.
A new Overview shows eight metrics: Conversions, Cost per conversion, Avg. CPC, CTR, Calls received, ROAS, Search impression share and Clicks. Each card has an info mark that says in a sentence what it counts. The metrics catalogue lists all 157 by source, and Sheets and calculated metrics explains how to add your own.
Change how a card looks
Open a card's settings to reach Change the card. The preview beside the settings follows each change as you make it.
What you can set on a metric card Setting Choices Card name Any name, in place of the metric's own Display Number, Line, Bars, Gauge or Goal. Goal needs a goal line first Comparison Previous period, Last year or None Goal line One of the account's goals that fits the metric, or no line Size on the overview Small or Large If none of your goals fits the metric, the window says so and links to Goals, where you can add one.
Pick the period and the comparison
The Period menu on My metrics offers This month, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, Last month, Last 90 days, or two dates you pick. It opens on This month, which runs from the 1st to yesterday, or shows today alone on the 1st. Dates you pick must end before today and cover two years at most.
Compare with sets what each card's change is measured against: the same days last month, the previous period, or the same days last year. This month compares with the same days last month by default. Every other period compares with the period before it.
How fresh the figures are
Optizads keeps each account's figures day by day. The newest 35 days are refreshed every night, since Google goes on crediting conversions to earlier days for weeks. If the last read is over an hour old when the Overview opens, Optizads refreshes the recent days in the background. The page redraws when they land.
A ratio over a period comes from the period's totals. A month's cost per conversion is the month's cost divided by the month's conversions, never an average of daily figures. Impression shares and the site-wide Google Analytics figures are read from Google for the exact days you picked, because their daily values do not add up.
