The short answer

Sign in with a Google login that already has access to the Google Ads account, then pick the account. Google gives apps full access to Google Ads, with no read-only option, so what Optizads does with it is set by your mode. A manager account cannot be audited directly: pick an ad account under it.

  1. Sign in with the right Google login

Optizads sees the Google Ads accounts your Google login can reach. Use the login you use in Google Ads. If you work across several logins, use the one with access to the account you want to connect. Read-only access is enough for audits and reports. To let Oppy apply the changes you approve, that login needs Standard or Admin access.

Google then asks you to let Optizads see and manage your Google Ads accounts. Google Ads offers no read-only permission to apps, so access is read and write together. What Optizads actually does with it is set by your mode.

  2. Pick the account

Search the list and pick the account. A few cases cannot be linked:

    • A manager account. It holds other accounts and cannot be audited directly. Pick one of the ad accounts under it.
    • A closed or suspended account. Pick an active one.

When you connect an account, Optizads reaches it only through the permission you give when you sign in with Google.

  3. When the account is not in the list

    1. Check that the login you used is the one with access, and switch with 'Use a different sign-in'.
    2. Ask an admin of the Google Ads account to add your login, then sign in again.
    3. If the account sits under a manager account you can reach, look for it under that manager.
  4. Add more sources

Google Analytics 4, Merchant Center, Search Console and the sales import each connect from the account's Integrations, with Google's own consent window. You choose the property, the Merchant Center account or the Search Console site. Each one gives Oppy more to work with: see Integrations.

  5. Reconnect or disconnect

If Google access stops working, for example because the person who connected left or revoked access, the account shows that it needs reconnecting. Sign in again with a login that has access.

To stop Optizads reaching an account, remove Optizads from your Google account's third-party access. Removing an ad account from Optizads deletes what it held, its tasks and History included.

Does Optizads need my Google Ads customer ID?

No. You sign in with Google and pick the account from the list. There is no ID to type and no script to install.

Why does Optizads ask for full access?

Google Ads gives apps one level of access, read and write together. Optizads reads to audit and writes only changes you approve, or ones inside your money limits in Autonomous mode.

Can I connect several ad accounts?

Yes. A business workspace usually holds one account. An agency workspace holds one per client, each with its own plan.
