Google Sheets, read only. Your own numbers beside the ads: qualified leads, margin, sales.
Connect Google Sheets and one column of your sheet becomes a metric, read again each night, on the Overview, in a goal or in a report. Your main goal can be counted from the same table, so the Goals page counts the leads your sales team qualified, not only the forms Google Ads saw.

What Oppy reads.
One column, day by day
The number to track and the date of each row. Or count the rows, one per lead or per call.
Every tab alike
A month per tab is fine: every tab laid out like the one you chose is read, and a day found in two tabs counts once.
Your goal's own count
The table your main goal is counted from, followed as it grows: a new tab laid out like the others joins by itself.
What it makes possible.
Brightwater Roofing logs every lead in a sheet with a tab per month and columns for the date, the source and a status the sales team fills in. Google Ads counts form fills. The owner cares about leads marked Qualified.
From the Overview, Add a metric, then Google Sheets: pick the sheet and All tabs, choose Count the rows, and keep only the rows where Status is Qualified. The card shows qualified leads by day, against the period before. A calculated metric, Spend ÷ Qualified leads, then gives the real cost of a qualified lead.
The same sheet can count the main goal on the Goals page, with Your table as its source. Days the table does not hold yet are counted from Google Ads, and the split is shown. A sheet metric can also carry a goal of its own, and goes into a report's Key figures.
How a day adds up. Six ways to turn a day's rows into one figure.
Over a period the same rule runs across the days: a sum adds the days, Highest per day shows the period's highest day, Average per day averages the days.
Sheets as people keep them.
Lead sheets are rarely tidy. Dates are typed as text, each month sits in its own tab with no year, a Total line closes the list, and amounts follow the writer's habits. The read takes them as they are. A tab named "March 2026" gives its year to a date written 12/03. A line that starts with Total or Sous-total is left out. 1 234,50 € and €1,234.50 read as the same amount.
Dates are read day first. For a sheet written the American way, set Date format to MM/DD/YYYY. A date that cannot exist, such as 30/02, is skipped and the rest of the sheet is still read. With no date column at all, Use the sync date dates each row by the day it was first read. The Sheets and calculated metrics docs list every format.
How to connect it.
Connect Google Sheets
At setup, in Settings, Integrations, or from the Overview when you add a metric. Google's window asks for read-only access to your spreadsheets.
Choose the sheet
Paste a link, pick a spreadsheet already in the Library, or, if you allowed file access, use Choose in Google Sheets to open Google's own file picker. Then a tab, or all of them.
Pick the columns and name it
The number to track, the date of each row, how a day adds up and any row filter. Give it a name and a format (count, money or percent), and it joins the Overview.
What it does not do.
It never writes to your sheets. The permission is read only, and the optional file access covers only the files you pick in Google's picker.
An account holds up to 20 sheet metrics. Through the Google Sheets permission, a sheet is read up to 12 tabs of 20,000 rows each. An Excel file (.xlsx or .xls) uploaded to the Library is read tab by tab from the uploaded copy, so it changes when you upload a new one.
When a read fails, the metric keeps its last days and says what went wrong. A sheet the Library can only read from its kept copy stops updating until you share it by link or connect Google Sheets.
Sending sales back to Google Ads is a separate job: see the sales import.
Questions about the Google Sheets integration.
Anything else? Ask Oppy in the product, or write to the team.
Can Optizads edit my Google Sheet?
No. It asks Google for read-only access to your spreadsheets. Oppy reads your sheets and never changes them.
Does my sheet have to be public?
No. With Google Sheets connected, a private sheet is read through that read-only permission. A sheet shared by link works too.
How often is the sheet read?
Every night, with the account's other figures, and again when the Overview is opened with figures over an hour old. The Goals page also reads a goal's table again when its last read is over an hour old.
Can I use Excel instead of Google Sheets?
Yes. Upload the .xlsx or .xls file to the Library and build the metric from it. Every tab is read from the uploaded file. A goal can also be counted from an Excel or CSV file.
How many sheet metrics can an account have?
Up to 20 per ad account, plus up to 20 calculated metrics that can use them.
