The short answer
An AI operator can safely apply small, reversible changes inside money limits a person set, such as pausing keywords past clear bars. It should never launch campaigns, add negative keywords, change bid strategies or budgets, or touch brand campaigns or conversion tracking, without a person's approval.
What can run on its own
Changes that can be undone, and are judged on the account's own numbers, are the right ones to automate. Pausing a keyword that spent past a clear bar with no result is the textbook case: its history stays, and it can come back.
Even those need a limit a person sets: the most the account may spend in a month. A cap on what one change can move adds a second guard.
What should always wait for a person
- New campaigns. Buying new demand is a budget decision about the business.
- Negative keywords. A negative blocks searches nobody has seen yet, so whether it was right can never be measured afterwards.
- Bid strategy switches. They reset learning and change what the account buys.
- Brand campaigns. Your own name is a commercial decision, not an optimisation.
- Conversion tracking. Changing what is counted changes what every later number means.
- Budget changes. Raising or cutting a budget moves the client's money: a person decides it.
Guardrails that matter
Evidence first
Every change carries the rows that justify it. No evidence, no change.
Check again before acting
Re-run the check at the moment of applying, and refuse if the account moved.
Read back after
Confirm the change landed as described.
Log everything
Who approved, what changed, the values before and after.
One switch to stop
A way to stop every write at once, without stopping the reading and the warnings.
How Optizads draws the line
In Suggest only, every change waits for you. In Autonomous, Oppy pauses keywords that kept spending without converting, inside your monthly budget and any per-change limit. Budget changes, negative keywords, new campaigns, brand campaigns, bid strategies and tracking always wait for a person. See Security and data.
