The short answer
Experiments are the only way to know whether a change worked, as opposed to whether the number went up afterwards. Oppy flags accounts that have never run one and have the volume to get an answer.
Why it matters
Without an experiment, every decision in the account's history was judged on a before and after. Seasons, competitors and budgets move at the same time, so a rise after a change says little about the change.
An account with this much volume can test a bidding strategy, a landing page or a new structure on half the traffic and know within weeks. Never having done so is a missed habit, not a fault.
How Oppy decides
The check only applies to accounts with enough conversions for an experiment to give an answer.
Checks that weigh money or clicks judge what they find on your own account's numbers, not on one figure applied to every account, so what counts as a problem on a small account is not the same on a large one. Checks on settings read how the account is set up.
When there is too little to go on, the check says so instead of guessing. A finding always comes with the rows behind it, so you can read the evidence before you decide.

| Needs trustworthy conversions | Yes. It stays silent when the tracking step fails. |
| What happens next | Reported in the audit with the rows behind it. The decision stays with you. |
Check it yourself in Google Ads
- In Google Ads, open Campaigns, then Experiments.
- Check whether any experiment has ever been run, finished or in progress.
- Add up the account's conversions over the last 30 days.
- If the account has plenty of conversions and no experiment, it could be testing.
What to do about it
Pick one question that matters, such as a bidding strategy or a landing page, and run it as a campaign experiment on a 50/50 split for four to six weeks.
Decide in advance what result would make you switch, so the outcome is a decision rather than a debate.
